For a closer look at the Campus Way Mission please take a look at our mission statement defined...
The Campus Way Mission
Discipling students to be followers of Christ and His mission, to reach their campus now and their community for a lifetime.
What this means:
Discipling= Using Jesus as a model in discipling. Teaching, spending time with, investing in, setting the example for, modeling and teaching them to be followers of Christ. Teaching God’s word and prayer.
Followers of Christ= After being discipled, being a follower of Christ means to live for Him. This is where our knowledge and faith now shows itself in our thinking, decisions, disciplines and actions. Specifically this means acting in obedience to His desires and reorganizing the priorities of our life to become more like him. Example: Going to church consistently, reading God’s Word on their own, praying regularly, being respectful to parents, teachers and authority. Staying away from sin, sex, drugs, and alcohol. Going to God for direction and help in decisions.
His Mission= This is where the focus shifts to sharing the Good News, loving others, and discipling others. Christ’s mission in the Great Commission is that disciples of his would in turn make more disciples. Student leaders of the Campus Way, now that they have been discipled, taught, and challenged to be followers of Christ, will be encouraged to reach out to lost students at their school and disciple other students to take the next step in their walk with Jesus.
Campus Now= The campus serves as their current mission where students will have an opportunity to gain the valuable experience of living out Christ’s mission.
Community for a lifetime= The goal for the Campus Way is not simply to reach the campus but to disciple students that will be followers of Christ and His mission for a lifetime in their communities. The Campus Way gives students an incredible opportunity to be used by God at a young age. Many students, when getting a taste of how God can use them are changed forever and even lead into full time ministry. In order to aide this process our leadership programming will focus on discovery of gifts, serving God in a variety of ways from presenting to, greeting, to administrative, small group leadership, to simply serving to give students an opportunity to learn who they are and what they are good at. The Networking spiritual gifts book which includes both self, peer, and adult written observational feedback as well as questionnaires to pull out strengths and spiritual gifts will be used in this process.
